Since 2006, Voices for Justice has been an important event helping to raise political awareness of global poverty and equip Christians to become lifelong advocates for the poor.

Each year Voices for Justice offers participants a unique experience of worship, workshops, training and political engagement. It's a rare opportunity to gather with Christians from all parts of the country, grow deeper in understanding God's heart for justice, be informed on critical issues of global poverty and put faith into action by representing the world's poorest people in Parliament.

Expect to be inspired by what you will hear and experience, to be equipped and trained for the task of speaking out as an advocate for the poor, to be heard by our nation's leaders and have an impact on Australia's response to global poverty as you meet with politicians in Parliament House.

Be prepared to move out of your comfort zone as you put faith into action and use your voice to 'speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves...’ (Proverbs 31:8-9).

In this day and age there are many ways to be an advocate. Voices for Justice will equip and encourage you to to use your voice through social networking, local media, in your local church and community, through face to face meetings with politicians and more.

In past years we have focused on a variety of global poverty related issues at Voices for Justice including child and maternal health; more and better aid; water, health and sanitation; the Millennium Development Goals; and tax and transparency. Each year has involved creative strategies and stunts to engage politicians, media and the general public with our focus campaign issue. (See the videos below for a snapshot of 2012 and 2014 Voices for Justice)

In 2015 we have another great opportunity to gather with like-minded Christians from across Australia and raise a united voice to influence government policy for the benefit of the world’s poorest people. This year we have seen severe cuts to the the Federal aid budget and we know that in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals, which build on the Millennium Development Goals (our previous campaigning platform), are set to be agreed upon by world leaders.

We believe Voices for Justice 2015 is set to be an even more powerful event for influencing these new global and national contexts. This year we will be launching the new phase of the Micah Challenge campaign, sharing the collective vision and strategy of the coalition, and equipping new and experienced advocates alike for ongoing campaigning and connecting in their local regions.

Our voices can once again be added together to speak for justice. We hope you can join us.
