Can you help us encourage your political representative Andrew Broad MP?
Recently Andrew Broad of Mallee has spoken on Australian aid for those who live in extreme poverty in our region. We’d like to tell them the importance of Australian aid as this is perfect example of the benefit of aid and a reason to reverse the negative trend of the aid budget
In Parliament Andrew Broad said:
There is something powerful about looking outside of yourself. There is something powerful, as Australians, about being generous to people in our regions.
We do live in a very poor region and we have an obligation as a country to ensure that, when we think about aid, human-to-human relationships are developed and that we remember the great word sent by telegraph, without an iPad, in 1910 by William Booth: 'Others'.

Whenever a politician engages with the issues we all care passionately about, it’s important to encourage, thank, or even challenge them. It doesn't mean we support that politician, or endorse everything they say. But if they don’t hear from passionate people in their electorate when they do speak up, it’s easy for them to give up, get cynical, or assume their electorate doesn’t care about Australian aid.
