Can you help us encourage your political representative Richard Marles MP?
Recently Richard Marles of Corio has spoken on Australian aid and the economic development of Papua New Guinea. We’d like to tell them the importance of Australian aid as this is perfect example of the benefit of aid and a reason to reverse the negative trend of the aid budget
In Parliament Richard Marles said:
As a result of that, we have seen the reliance of PNG on Australia aid increasingly decline as a percentage of their revenue to the point where trade with Australia as a source of revenue far exceeds aid from Australia, which I think is a very significant moment in the development of Papua New Guinea.

Whenever a politician engages with the issues we all care passionately about, it’s important to encourage, thank, or even challenge them. It doesn't mean we support that politician, or endorse everything they say. But if they don’t hear from passionate people in their electorate when they do speak up, it’s easy for them to give up, get cynical, or assume their electorate doesn’t care about Australian aid.
