Can you help us encourage your political representative Sharman Stone MP?

Recently Sharman Stone of Murray has spoken on Australian aid and its benefits for women in developing nations. We’d like to tell them the importance of Australian aid as this is perfect example of the benefit of aid and a reason to reverse the negative trend of the aid budget

In Parliament Sharman Stone said:

I am very pleased that our government has dedicated 80 per cent of our overseas aid budget specifically for the benefit of women and girls. It will be a filter that all projects are put through to see that they do in fact help to empower women—their economic empowerment in particular—but that of course, as I have just said, is to do with their education opportunities and their better health outcomes.

Whenever a politician engages with the issues we all care passionately about, it’s important to encourage, thank, or even challenge them. It doesn't mean we support that politician, or endorse everything they say. But if they don’t hear from passionate people in their electorate when they do speak up, it’s easy for them to give up, get cynical, or assume their electorate doesn’t care about Australian aid.
