Volunteering with Micah Challenge is a great way to contribute your time and skills towards reducing global poverty and seeing God’s people live out justice. You will learn more about God's kingdom in action and gain first-hand experience working in a faith-based advocacy campaign.

We thank you in advance for your generosity of time in advocating on behalf of the world’s poorest people.

Be an advocate in your own community!

If you do not live in Sydney, or are unable to regularly commit time, you can also simply get involved in raising awareness about Micah Challenge and our campaigns. There are several ways anyone can advocate in their own community:

  • Speaking or running a campaign action at your church
  • Organising an event
  • Speaking to your friends about poverty and justice issues

Micah Challenge has the resources to help you use your voice on behalf of the world’s poor. Contact us to find out more or visit

What is it like to volunteer at Micah Challenge?

Some previous Micah volunteers share their experiences.

“Volunteering at Micah Challenge enabled me to get behind the scenes experience of all the hard work that goes into campaigning primarily for a wealthy country like ours to keep its global promise of contributing to poverty alleviation. It was valuable to glimpse into the workspace of the few, but devoted and determined workers of an aid campaign, and got a taste of what life in the office is like. The backstage glimpse and the friendships formed made for a very worthwhile experience indeed.” – Ailin

“As a Micah Challenge Volunteer I was able to learn from and work with Christians who are experienced in the development sector, passionate about justice and live to serve Jesus. I was given the time and opportunity to work with mobilisation partners in the lead up to the Federal Election as part of the Finish the Race campaign. It was great to be part of a community of Christians who love the world's poor and encourage one another in the pursuit of justice.” – Rachel
